The M.Sc. by Research in Applied Biomedical Science provides you with the opportunity to undertake an in-depth research project within a dynamic and multidisciplinary biomedical research environment. The programme is designed for you if you wish to develop advanced research skills while contributing to the understanding of human disease, disease mechanisms, diagnosis, translational research using cells and animal models, and therapeutic approaches. You will work closely with experienced academic researchers and gain practical experience in experimental and/or computational approaches, data analysis, critical evaluation of scientific literature, and the dissemination of research findings.
Research opportunities within the Department span a broad range of contemporary areas in biomedical science, including sepsis and host-response biomarkers, blood transcriptomics, and erythropoiesis, genetics and genomics of rare diseases, myocardial infarction, osteoporosis and musculoskeletal disorders, cancer and liquid biopsies, immune regulation and inflammatory responses, antibody discovery, multi-omics, space-flight experiments and model organisms. These projects provide students with exposure to cutting-edge technologies and study approaches.

Applicants interested in pursuing a Master of Science (by Research) are strongly advised to refer to this Information Sheet.
